The Click

  • What is the click? A button? Something in your head? In  your heart? What is it for? And what if we discover we don't have the click? What happens? Huh? What happens?

"Teacher says, When you pay attention and things click,
    you’ll understand!
    Click?
    Click.
My swimming coach says I'm a great swimmer.
And that if my mind clicks, I'll be the next champion.
What click?! I don't have the click."

    THE ILLUSTRATOR

Mercè Gali grew up surrounded by poetry and storybooks at her parent’s bookshop, in Gràcia neighbourhood, in Barcelona. Spontaneous trace, painting stains, collage, photography, playing with fate is what interests her the most, as well as pursuing the maximum expressivity through simplicity. She likes humour and does her best to take imagination one stage further from the text so as to
make the reader smile with complicity. She studied illustration at “La Llotja” in Barcelona and Fine Arts at University of Barcelona, within the speciality of engraving. At the International Children’s Book Fair in Bologna 2019, the book “El meus primers haikús” was selected among the best Toddler Books, while El Petit Indi project was among the finalists in the Silent Book Contest.
