The Unknown Seed

  • Leo's dad has prepared a lovely surprise for him, his mum and his sister: four seeds, one for each of them, which they will have to look after until they hatch.

    The pineapple seed for Mum,
    The papaya seed for Dad,
The tangerine seed for his sister Chloe,
And for Leo... that's the question!

Not only is this seed unknown, it also refuses to grow out of the ground... Leo is clueless and furious! Why his seed is unbearably slow and does't want to show up as fast as the others?

"Sometimes, certain plants take time to grow. They will only be more beautiful": dad's words calm him down and as he tells the seed about the beauty of nature around, he encourages her to show the tips of her petals... and what will grow is beyond anything he could have imagined!

Just like their previous book, The Gift, Alain Serge Dzotap and Delphine Renon duo offers us a delicate and soothing story. In response to discouragement and fustration, it reminds us that time often brings unexpected and worthy answers.
